INVITATION TO BID THE ATHENS LAND TRUST 685 N. POPE STREET ATHENS, GEORGIA 30601 will receive bids for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services required for: CONSTRUCTION OF THREE SINGLE-FAMILY EARTHCRAFT HOMES ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY, GEORGIA FUNDED BY HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM Sealed bids shall be received until 4:00 P.M. Current Local Time, on August 30th, 2012 at the main office of the Owner at the address indicated above. At that time all bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals submitted by mail should be addressed to the Owner at the address set out above. All proposals submitted by mail will be collected at the address set out above at 10:00 A.M. Current Local Time on the day mentioned above and held unopened at the office of the Athens Land Trust until 4:00 P.M., at which time they will be opened with those that have been hand delivered. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on August 16th at 4:00 P.M. Current Local Time at Athens Land Trust office at 685 N. Pope Street, Athens, Georgia 30601. Bidding Documents, including Plans and Specifications, are on file at Athens Blueprint. Please see www.athensblueprint.com for information. Copies of the documents may be obtained by prime contractors, subcontractors, or material suppliers, from Athens Blueprint and bids will be accepted from General Contractors. Partial bids from subcontractors will not be accepted. Sealed bids shall not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. The General Contractors submitting bids or being considered for this work shall be licensed to perform such work by the State in which the work is located and shall submit evidence of such license before his/her bid may be considered. A Certified Check or Bank Draft drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, payable to The Athens Land Trust, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety on the Bid Bond form contained in the Project Manual and in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond(s) in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount or a 25% irrevocable letter of credit. All Contractors must meet insurance requirements of the Athens Land Trust. Contractors must also complete EarthCraft builder training.
