Notice is hereby given that a petition for zoning action has been filed by Jeffery S. McAbee with
City of Fort Valley, and that a Public Hearing before the Planning & Zoning Commission will be held in the City Hall Building at 204 West Church Street on the 26th day of June, 2012. The Mayor and Council will hold a Public Hearing on said petition in the City Hall Building at 6:30 o clock pm. on the 19th day of July 2012. Purpose of these hear- ings is to consider the petition and to hear objections, if any, to the requested change in the zoning classification from its present Industrial to a Commercial (C-2) classifica- tion. Legal description of said property is as follows: (see exhibit A) That certain tract, lot or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the State of Georgia, County of Peach, and in the City of Fort Valley therein and being the property which the said Mrs. Mattie J, Peddicord owned and resided upon at the time of her death, said lot fronting West 210 feet on Fairground Street and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the East side of the right of way of Fairground Street indicated by an iron pin, said beginning point being removed 25 feet East from a nail in the center of the pavement on Fairground Street, said nail in the center of the pavement on Fairground Street being removed South 00 37 West 515.3 feet from the center of the intersection of Fairground Street and North Macon Street, and from said beginning point on the East side of the right of way on Fairground Street, which is marked by said iron pin, running South 89 23 East a distance of 377.8 feet to an iron pipe; thence from said iron pipe running South 00 37 West a distance of 212.5 feet to an iron pipe; thence North 87 5 West a distance of 37.5 feet to an iron pipe; thence North 89 38 West a distance of 340.5 feet to a point on the East side of the right of way of Fairground Street marked by an iron pin; thence along the East side of the right of way of Fairground Street North 00 37 East a distance of 210 feet to the point or place of beginning marked by said iron pin. Said property is bounded on the North by lands formerly owned by WR Brown, on the East by lands known as the Fort Valley Cotton Mill land, on the South by lands formerly owned by HA Mathews, and on the West by Fairground Street. The metes, bounds and distances of said tract of land are all fully shown by a plat of survey of survey of said property made by JR Curtis, Registered Surveyor No. 402, on November 17, 1961, designated as the TA McCord, Jr. property, said plat being recorded in Book 4, Page 165, Clerk s Office, Peach Superior Court, Georgia, reference to said plat and the record thereof being here had and made for all purposes.
