Legal 12103<br /><br />Notice of Public Hearing<br /><br />The Mayor and City Council of Peachtree City will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 7:00 P.M. It will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers at 151 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City. All interested parties are invited to attend and be heard.<br /><br />The purpose of the hearing is to allow for public discussion of a proposed variance to Section 1007.4.e(1) of the city floodplain management/ flood damage prevention ordinance which prohibits encroachments within the regulatory floodway. <br /><br />Dominion Partners, LLC is constructing the Somerby at Peachtree City assisted living and memory care facility on Rockaway Road. Grading associated with the project requires that fill be placed within a small portion of the existing floodplain in order to construct a level area for the planned fire access road around the building. The area where the fill is proposed is the location of a former logging road on the property, which created an abnormality in the delineation of the actual floodplain.<br /><br />In addition, the Applicant is requesting that the variance also apply to a portion of the regulatory floodplain that will be disturbed to accommodate construction of the sanitary sewer line to the regional pump station on the Meade Field tract across Rockaway Road.<br /><br />February 20, 2013
