NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT Pursuant to OCGA 15-12-81(b) and OCGA 48-5-311, notice is hereby given that the Grand Jury for the July 2012 Term of the Superior Court of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, which was convened on Monday, July 9, 2012, will be required to make the following appointments or reappointments to the Board of Tax Equalization of Athens-Clarke County: Regular Member, Alternate Member, Two Additional Alternate Members, to be appointed for a term which shall run from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016 and one alternate member to fill an unexpired term through December 31, 2014. Within the first year after this initial appointment to the Board of Tax Equalization, the member or alternate member shall satisfactorily complete not less than 40 hours of instruction in appraisal and equalization processes and procedures, as prepared and required by the commissioner. The failure of any member or alternate member to fulfill the requirements shall render that member or alternate member ineligible to serve on the board. Thereafter, any person appointed to such board who has completed the initial 40 hours of instruction, shall be required to complete annually a continuing education requirement of at least eight (8) hours of instruction in appraisal and equalization procedures, and the failure of any member or alternate member to fulfill this requirement shall render that member or alternate member ineligible to serve on the board.
