Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 16-13-49(n), any party claiming interest in the below described property is hereby notified that on the 1st day of November, said property was seized by the West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Meriwether County, Georgia, on 1960 County Line road in Hogansville.

Description of the property: Eight Hundred Thirty Two Dollars in United States Currency.

Conduct giving Rise to Forfeiture: In February and March of 2012, West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office (WMRDEO) conducted two controlled purchases of methamphetamine from the aforementioned residence. On both occasions, Christopher Jason Smith sold illegal narcotics to a confidential informant. On November 1, 2012, WMRDEO_served arrest warrants on Christopher Jason Smith at the aforementioned residence. Mr. Smith was at said residence when Agents with the WMRDEO arrived. Upon arrival, Agents spoke with Mr. Smith's wife and she stated that there was marijuana in the home. Agent asked Mr. Smith if they could search his home. Initially, Mr. Smith agreed to a search of the house and then he equivocated. As a result, Agents secured the residence and obtained a warrant for it. Agents then executed search warrant on said residence and located over 10 Xanax pills, over 10 oxycodone pills, and marijuana. Agents also found a digital scale and two firearms in the residence. After a brief conversation with Christopher Jason Smith, he admitted that all of the drugs found in the home belonged to him. Mr. Smith was arrested for Sale of Methamphetamine, Possession of Xanax, Possession of Oxycodone, and Possession of Marijuana Less than an Ounce. The aforementioned United States Currency was seized because it was proceeds derived from transactions from the Sale of Methamphetamine in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-13-49.

You are further notified that you may file a claim within thirty days of the second publication of this Notice of Seizure by sending a claim to the Meriwether County District Attorney's Office, P. O. Box 520, Greenville, Georgia 30222, by certified mail, return receipt requested.
