Georgia Power Company has filed with the Georgia Public Service Commission its 2013 Integrated Resource Plan and Application for Decertification of Plant Branch Units 3 and 4, Plant McManus Units 1 and 2, Plant Kraft Units 1-4, Plant Yates Units 1-5, Plant Boulevard Units 2 and 3, and Plant Bowen Unit 6 and Georgia Power Company s Application for the Certification of its Amended Demand Side Management Plan. Copies of these filings are on file with the Georgia Public Service Commission and are also available for inspection at the region offices of Georgia Power Company.
These matters have been assigned Docket Number 36498 and Docket Number 36499, respectively, and have been set down for public hearing before the Georgia Public Service Commission pursuant to the Integrated Resource Plan Act, O.C.G.A 46-3A-1 et seq.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on April 3, 2013, the Commission will begin by receiving the testimony of any public witnesses relative to either docket pursuant to O.C.G.A. 46-2-59. The hearing will be held in Room 110 of the Georgia Public Service Commission offices located at 244 Washington Street, SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30334. The Commission will then conduct hearings on the direct case of Georgia Power Company in Docket No. 36498 regarding the retirement of the Plant Bowen Unit 6 CT, to be immediately followed by hearings on Commission Staff and intervenor testimony regarding the disposition of this particular unit. The public may also express opinions in either docket at hearings on April 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. and on May 21, 2013 following the Commission s 10:00 a.m. Administrative Session.
In accordance with O.C.G.A. Section 46-2-59(c), persons wishing to intervene must file a Petition to Intervene with the Georgia Public Service Commission within thirty (30) days of the first publication of this notice.
In accordance with the Procedural and Scheduling Order issued in these Dockets, an original and fifteen (15) copies of any pre-filed testimony or statements by intervenors shall be accompanied by an electronic version of the filing that shall be made on a CD using Microsoft Word format for text documents and Microsoft Excel for spread sheets. Under no circumstances should any electronic filing consist of more than four (4) files, including attachments. Testimony shall be filed at the office of the Executive Secretary, Georgia Public Service Commission, 244 Washington St., SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-5701. Testimony regarding the retirement of the Plant Bowen Unit 6 CT in Docket 36498 must be filed no later than March 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Hearings concerning the Plant Bowen Unit 6 CT will be conducted on April 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. and intervenor testimony will be heard following the Commission Staff s testimony. All other intervenor testimony in Docket 36498 and Docket 36499 must be filed by 4:00 p.m. on May 10, 2013. At the conclusion of the Commission s 10:00 a.m. Administrative Session on May 21, 2013, hearings in both dockets will begin on Commission Staff and intervenor testimony. Any expert testimony or testimony of a technical nature must be pre-filed. Parties of record must also file with one another copies of any pre-filed testimony.
