NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Floyd County and the cities of Rome and Cave Spring are beginning a Five-Year Update of the Community Work Program within their joint comprehensive plan that was originally adopted in 2008. The five-year update is required and will be prepared according to new rules promulgated by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, which became effective on January 1, 2013.
To that end, the City Council of Cave Spring, Georgia, will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on March 12, 2013, in the Council Chambers at Cave Spring City Offices, Fannin Hall, 10 Georgia Avenue, in Cave Spring, Georgia; the Rome, Georgia, City Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, in the Commission Chambers at the Rome City Hall, 601 Broad Street, in Rome, Georgia; and the Board of Commissioners of Floyd County, Georgia, will hold a public hearing at 2:00 p.m. on March 12, 2013, in the Commission Chambers at the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East Fourth Avenue, in Rome, Georgia to discuss the process and schedule for preparation of the 2013-2017 Community Work Plan and the Report of Accomplishments (2008-2012 Work Plan) as they relate to the Goals/ Objectives/ Issues/ Opportunities and the Future Land use Map adopted in 2008 as part of the Comprehensive Planning process.
As set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992, the local governments of Rome, Cave Spring, and Floyd County do not discriminate on the basis of disability, and will assist citizens with special needs given proper notice (seven working days).
